Introduction

Parenting is one of life’s most rewarding yet challenging roles. When your young adult children are survivors of trauma or domestic abuse, these challenges can feel overwhelming. Navigating the complexities of addiction, substance abuse, and the lasting effect of trauma adds to the difficulty of supporting their recovery journey and ours as parents.
As your support group facilitators, our hearts desire is to offer a compassionate and safe environment where parents can share their experiences, connect with others who understand your struggles, and develop effective strategies for healing and moving forward. You are NOT alone!
About Our Support Group
Our Parent Peer Support Group is dedicated to parents whose children (young adults or adults) who are survivors of trauma, domestic abuse, or substance use. We understand the unique difficulties you face and are here to provide the support and resources you need.
What We Offer:
- Safe and Confidential Space: A welcoming environment where you can share your story without judgment.
- Peer Connections: Opportunities to connect with other parents who understand your experiences.
- Guidance and Resources: Shared lived experience and resources to help you support your child’s recovery and your own well-being.
- Facilitated Discussions: Led by experienced support group facilitators who guide conversations to promote healing and recovery.

To empower parents by providing emotional support, creating community connections, and sharing effective strategies for overcoming the challenges associated with their child’s trauma and substance abuse recovery.

Healing Is Possible
We believe that transformation is possible. HOPE. is a peer community hosting peer support groups led by trained volunteers with a heart for helping others overcome their past. This group is parents whose children ( young adults or adults) who has lived through trauma, brokenness, or abuse in their lives. We believe that by identifying what a healthy relationship is, we can recognize what an unhealthy relationship is. We are dedicated to continual healing and restoration by joining arms and walking side by side as we heal together. We strive to provide a safe and confidential space.

Support Group Facilitator’s Pledge
As your support group facilitators, we will:
- Establish Trust: Try our best to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere where parents feel comfortable sharing their experiences.
- Facilitate Discussions: Guide conversations that facilitate hope and supportive, focusing on healing and recovery.
- Provide Resources: Share information about local services, therapeutic referrals, and recovery strategies.
- Encourage Peer Support: Promote connections among parents to build a supportive community.
- Exploring Our Faith: Finding strength through our shared experiences and faith.
- We are committed to ending generational trauma and stigma, creating an enriching community where we can find healing and release from emotional burdens.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
The only prerequisite we have is that you come just as you are.
Our hope is that you experience healing. You feel validated, accepted and belonging.
