Michale Taylor
At birth, doctors refused to give Michale’s mother legal custody due to high levels of crack and alcohol in Michale’s system. Michale entered the world fighting a drug addiction. She was adopted by her grandmother, who had custody of four other relatives. They lived on the west side of Columbus, where only one in three youth were projected to die or be in jail by age 21.
Michale has faced numerous hardships: the loss of her grandmother at age 11, taking on the care of younger siblings at age 12 while being raised by an 18-year-old cousin, and losing a full-ride scholarship when she found out she was pregnant her senior year of high school.
Shortly after high school, she enrolled in college, and within 5.5 years, Michale graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business Management, specializing in entrepreneurship studies.
Her world changed forever when her 18-year-old brother, Waki M. Bryant, was killed in an unsolved home invasion. His death ignited a deep purpose within her: to prevent 1M+ youth from becoming the next statistic.
Lived experiences taught Michale that the ability to defy the odds that have claimed many lives lies in the ability to self-regulate through nervous system regulation. By reverse engineering everything she did, Michale developed R.I.S.E. Unbroken, a trauma-informed and SEL framework that teaches youth how to self-regulate, build emotional resilience, and make intentional decisions for the future. She also offers customize one on one coaching plans for individuals seeking their next breakthrough through nervous system regulation and identity building.
